Reuse & Permissions

Thank you for wanting to share content from The Fighting Filipinos newsletter. The goal of this policy is to encourage promotional sharing that grows readership while protecting original work and any third‑party rights.

What you may do without asking

  • Share direct links to the original post on social media, email, or websites.

  • Share full posts on social platforms that preserve attribution and link back to the original (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Substack reposts, etc.).

  • Quote excerpts up to 250 words (per post) when you include the author byline, the newsletter title, and a link to the original post.

  • Republish short excerpts (up to 250 words) in newsletters, community posts, or promotional roundups for non‑commercial purposes with the same attribution and link requirement.

When sharing, please use this attribution format exactly:

  • By Ed Sevilla — The Fighting Filipinos — [link to original post]

Uses that require prior written permission

Request permission for any of the following:

  • Republishing an entire post on a website, blog, print publication, or other medium (outside of social platforms that provide native linking).

  • Translating content into another language for publication.

  • Using substantial excerpts (over 250 words) or combining multiple posts into a new published work.

  • Commercial reuse, syndication, bundling for resale, or inclusion in paid products, courses, or books.

  • Using images, maps, or archival media included in a post — many assets are third‑party or rights‑restricted and need separate clearance.

How to request permission

Email: thefightingfilipinos1@gmail.com
Please include:

  • Which post(s) or excerpt you want to use (URL(s)).

  • How and where the content will appear (site/platform, print, course, paid product).

  • Exact excerpt or scope (word count or percent).

  • Planned publication date and whether the use is commercial.

Typical response time: 5–10 business days. If approved, we will send a brief written license describing permitted uses and any fees or attribution requirements.

Licensing & fees

  • Non‑commercial promotional sharing as described above is allowed without a fee so long as attribution and a link are provided.

  • Commercial or republication requests may be subject to a one‑time fee or licensing agreement depending on scope and distribution.

  • For recurring or large‑scale syndication we offer custom licensing terms.

Images, archival footage, and third‑party material

  • Many images, maps, video clips, or archival materials are used under specific rights or fair‑use analyses and are not automatically cleared for reuse. Ask for explicit permission before reusing images or embedded media; we will confirm rights and, if necessary, provide a cleared asset or deny reuse.

Attribution and modifications

  • Always attribute the author and link to the original post.

  • Do not remove or alter bylines, publication dates, or links.

  • Minor edits for length or clarity are permitted for non‑commercial promotional uses if attribution and a link remain intact. Substantive edits, adaptations, or translations require permission.

DMCA and takedown
